5 Bad Bookish Habits

I’m starting to realize that I have some bad bookish habits…or maybe I’ve known about them all along and was just in denial? Yeah, the second one seems much more likely since it was entirely too easy to come up with these five habits.

1. I get excited for new books and preorder them…and then don’t read them for months after they have released.

2. I have problems continuing series even if I loved the first book or two. A fantastic example of this is Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Lux series. I’ve read the first three books but I’m avoiding book four for no real reason. This irritates the heck out of a certain friend of mine!! I will admit that Evil Jen gets a teensy bit of enjoyment out of this.

3. I collect bookmarks but rarely use them. I guess I like to look at the pretties but don’t want to risk them being damaged. If it wasn’t a ridiculous idea I would consider putting bookmarks in all of my ‘short list’ books so they’re ready to go when I grab and run. That would require A LOT of bookmarks though since my ‘short list’ is an entire bookshelf with overflow onto a second bookshelf. Which brings me to my next habit.

4. I buy entirely too many books. More than I will ever be able to read. It’s debatable if this one is actually a BAD habit.

5. I procrastinate. A Lot. When I sign up to review books I usually wait until the week before my post date to read the book and a lot of times you’ll find me finishing my review and formatting my post 10pm the night before it’s to go live. Really, this could be the root of the problem with numbers 1 and 2 as well.

What bookish bad habits do you have?

3 Liner Review: How to Run With a Naked Werewolf (Naked Werewolf #3) by Molly Harper

How to Run With a Naked Werewolf
By Molly Harper

Series: Naked Werewolf #3
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Werewolves

Goodreads Summary:

Anna Moder has just witnessed a shooting, seen her car pulverized, and rescued a wounded stranger only to discover he’s really a werewolf. And by her recent standards, things are actually looking up. Lycanthropes don’t faze Anna. Doctoring a wolf pack outside Grundy, Alaska, is the closest thing to home life she’s knows in years. But hitching a ride to Anchorage with long-absent pack member Caleb Graham that’s a risk. Park of her itches to whack his nose with a newspaper. The rest is trying unsuccessfully to keep her own paws off every delicious inch of him.

The problem is, Caleb employs his lupine tracking abilities as a not quite-legal bounty hunter, and Anna is suspicious of both him and his profession. On the run from her past, with old problems closing in, she’d like to star far, far away from anybody with connections to the law. Caleb, however, seems determined to keep her close. Are his intentions noble, or is he working a more predatory angle?

Anna’s been dreaming of returning to a semi-normal life, but now she’s experiencing a strange new urge…to join Caleb in running with the wolves.

My Thoughts:

That is a fairly long summary and I’m not sure that I can add much to it but holy freaking cow am I ever glad that Molly Harper decided to continue this series! It’s one that I will forever pimp out and it’s no surprise to me that the third installment hits the same level of awesome as the first two. Just like the first two in the series, How to Run With a Naked Werewolf has a impeccable balance of drama and humor….and hot werewolves ;) that will keep you reading past your bedtime.

Then she meets Roth—a tattooed, sinfully hot demon who claims to know all her secrets. Layla knows she should stay away, but she's not sure she wants to—especially when that whole no-kissing thing isn't an issue, considering Roth has no soul. My Thoughts:

I’ve been eyeing up both Lisa Kessler’s Night and Moon series for a while but for one reason or another I just haven’t gotten to them yet. When I saw Beg Me to Slay I decided to take the leap. I bought and read it right away and I’m very glad I did. It had action, sizzle, and even some frustration thrown in the mix.

I loved that the characters were flawed. They both have weaknesses and a lot of baggage that constantly threatens to drag them down. I also thought it was refreshing to see a strong male character have a time of weakness and need help from a female character. Seriously book guys, you don’t have to be alpha strong 24/7.

I would love to tell you whether or not they overcome those obstacles but that would be naughty of me so I will refrain ;)
