Friday Favorites: Animals

  Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens Brown paper packages tied up with strings These are a few of our favorite things.   We all talk a lot about books on our blogs, but what about other things we like? Friday Favorites is a meme hosted by Epic (Chocolate) Fantasy that gives book bloggers a chance to gush about something other than novels. This week's topic is animals.   Wendy   I love animals! My favorites are alpha shifters lol. Seriously though I adore wolves of all kinds and I collect all things wolf (even books). Bengal and Siberian Tigers are both gorgeous animals too. Other animals I find fascinating, although scary as hell are sharks and snakes. Yes I said snakes. I think they are amazing animals and I am not afraid to handle them in a controlled setting, but in the wild...oh no!   Jen   Like Wendy, I also love animals! I'm a huge fan of werewolves and shifters in books. I'm a dog lover and have a fur baby named Kirby. And because I love showing him off, here are some pics...    

  Cats are ok too as long as they keep their talons and fangs to themselves, haha. In other words, I do like cats but I have a niggling in the back of my mind that keeps telling me that I could be scratched or bitten any second. I don't mind being around cats but I try to keep them away from my face.   And because Wendy mentioned sharks, I would LOVE to swim with sharks someday!!! In a cage of course haha!

Friday Favorites: Cities

Jen's favorite city/cities 

I don't think I've been to my favorite city yet. There are places that I've enjoyed but I wouldn't want to live there. So instead of talking about my favorite city/cities I'll just list two places I've enjoyed and why.

Las Vegas~ There's so much to see in Vegas and the lights at night are absolutely gorgeous but I'm not a big city girl so anything over a week would be too much for this country bumpkin.

Watkins Glen~ I love being around water so the Watkins Glen area is a big draw for me. There are waterfalls all over the place, even randomly along the roadside. There are also the finger lakes which are surrounded by wineries. One of my favorite things was driving parallel to the lake and smelling the sweet scent of grapes in the wind. Really, it's such an amazing smell! One of the downfalls of the area (aside from the tons of spiders *shivers*)  is that it's a tourist town. One of the reasons I won't move ever want to move back to my hometown in 'amish country' is for that very reason...I don't want to deal with constant out of towners.

Wendy's favorite city/cities


I agree with Jen, I have yet to visit my favorite city. I do have a few in mind that I am sure I would love if I ever get the chance to visit, so those are the ones I will share with you.

Paris, France~ I have read several books set in Paris and it just sounds so beautiful. It is at the top of my list of vacation wishes.

Las Vegas, Nevada~ I don't want to go to gamble, but I think (from pictures I have seen) that the strip at night would be an awesome sight!

Seattle, Washington~ I know, I know its rainy. Why there you say? I love the rain! And besides that I am a Seahawks fan!

Rio de Janeiro~ I really want to go during Carnival I just think it would be beautiful and an amazing experience.

Jen's Favorite Foods

-Salty junk food (chips, pretzels, etc.)
    -chips, salsa, & sour cream is a fav combo

-Pretty much anything starchy
    -mac n cheese
    -potatoes (mashed, baked, fried, etc.)  
    -pizza (pepperoni & cheese only...then I pick off the pepperoni
      and eat it separately. I think it drives the hubster nuts ;))
    -shrimp alfredo & cheese biscuits from Red Lobster
    -buffalo chicken soft pretzels (ok, now I'm starting to drool as I type)
    -Chicken & Dumplings

-Steak (I'm a big steak and potatoes type of gal)

-Cheeseburgers

-Eggs

-Cheese

Wendy's Favorite Foods

-Chicken Parmesan (Homemade is the best)

-Shrimp & Broccoli (Chinese Food is my absolute favorite take out!)

-Mushrooms

    -Chicken & Mushroom Alfredo

    -Mushroom & Swiss burgers

    -Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

    (I will try anything with mushrooms in it, I love them!)

-Lasagna (I am a huge fan of Italian food.)

-Pizza (loaded no Anchovies)

-Mexican 7 layer dip (This is so good, easy to make and is a huge hit at parties)

-Coffee (Especially Hazelnut mmmm!)

I love the characters and all of the bloody zombie kills.

Law & Order: SVU - They (tv people) really need to stop running SVU marathons because I get sucked in every time So You Think You Can Dance
