Cold Blooded (Jessica McClain #3)

by Amanda Carlson

To be released Fall of 2013

"Jessica arrives back in town to find her best friend missing and the most powerful witch in the country is blaming her for it. But before they can move to save her, the group is attacked.

On the run, Jessica and Rourke head to the mountains. Several surprises await them, but in order to save her father they are forced to leave for New Orleans early.

Arriving on the Vampire Queen’s doorstep unexpectedly, and bringing trouble on their heels, the Sects are thrown into an all out war. The vicious skirmish ends up forcing the vamps and Jessica to fight on the same team.

The Vamp Queen ends up owing Jessica, but what Jessica doesn’t realize is just how soon she’ll have to cash it in."

I love this cover, especially the moon and building in the background!

And of course I'm loving the blue :)

Looking Back: 2012 Review Catch up - 5 Star Books

What better way to start the New Year than to tackle unfinished items from the previous year.  Last year I went through a short, ok long, period where I was reading a lot and not writing reviews. So I thought I would do a couple quick posts to give shout outs to some great books that didn’t get the attention they deserved. This post is for books that I rated 5 out of 5 stars. I very much enjoyed these books and I highly recommend them.

Previous Posts (dates are linked to the posts)
Jan 3rd - Jen posted 4* books from 2012 that she didn't review
Jan 4th - Wendy posted some of her 4* books from 2012
Upcoming Post

Jan. 11th (tomorrow) - Wendy will post some of her 5* books from 2012

Blooded (Jessica McClain .5) by Amanda Carlson

Goodreads Summary:

Jessica McClain was born the only female in an all male race. The only problem is-she’s no wolf. Called a curse, a witch and the Daughter of Evil by the superstitious wolves, Jessica decides to fight for her freedom, at nineteen the only way she can-in the ring.

When she’s brutally attached right after her fight, is it enough to finally earn her freedom off Compound, or will she be forced to endure the hatred even longer…

My Review:

I loved this novella. The author packed such an awesome story into just 66 pages and I’m very excited to get my hands on the full length book, Full Blooded, next month!!

Blooded has werewolves, action, and an awesome lead character, Jess. She really just wants to be left alone. But that’s not likely to happen since she’s the only human female living among male wolves…male wolves who think she should be killed.

Overall Rating: 5 out of 5

Note: According to Goodreads the full length novel, Full Blooded, has not released yet BUT Amazon and Barnes & Noble are shipping the paperbacks out early! Yay!
