Wildest Dreams (Fantasyland #1) by Kristen Ashley

Goodreads Summary:

Seoafin "Finnie" Wilde was taught by her parents that life was meant to be lived, every breath was a treasure and to seek every adventure she could find. And she learns this lesson the hard way when they perish in a plane crash when she's fifteen. But she never forgets and when she discovers there is a parallel universe where every person has a twin, she finds a witch who can send her there so she can see her parents again and have the adventure of a lifetime.

But nearly upon arrival in the Winter Wonderland of Lunwyn, she realizes she's been played by her twin of the alternate universe and shortly finds herself walking down the aisle to be wed to The Drakkar.

Instantly thrown into inauspicious circumstances, with years of practice (she did, of course, survive that elephant stampede, if she could do that, she can do anything), Finnie bests the challenges and digs into her adventure. But as Frey Drakkar discovers the woman who is his new wife is not Princess Sjofn, a woman he dislikes (intensely) but instead, his Finnie, a free-spirit with a thirst for venture just like him (not to mention she is his destiny), without her knowledge he orders his new bride bound to his frozen world, everlasting.

My Thoughts:

I put this book off for a long time because it is over 450 pages. So it is true to form being a Kristen Ashley book. Once I started reading the pages just flew by amd it didn't seem nearly as long as it is.

This is the first book in the Fantasyland series and it is definitely off to a great start! I am a fan of time travel romances and that is exactly what this is. It is a mix of Fantasy, time travel and also has some paranormal creatures. It is definitely one that spans several romance genres and one I recommend as well!

I originally planned on posting something different for this week's shelf candy saturday but I quickly scrapped that idea when I laid my eyes on the cover of Black and Blue! Both covers are absolutely stunning. I love that they are mostly grey aside from the bold colors of the fonts and dresses. It makes the brilliant blue (and red) stand out that much more. These are both covers that just jump off the shelf and say READ ME!!  And ironically enough, that's how I found Last Kiss Goodnight. I was cruising around my local book store looking for a different book and Last Kiss Goodnight practically jumped in my hands and asked to go home with me. I couldn't say no...I mean look at that cover!!

The Espressologist by Kristina Springer

 Goodreads Summary:

What’s your drink of choice? Is it a small pumpkin spice latte? Then you’re lots of fun and a bit sassy. Or a medium Americano? You prefer simplicity in life. Or perhaps it’s a small decaf soy sugar-free hazelnut caffe latte? Some might call you a yuppie. Seventeen-year-old barista Jane Turner has this theory that you can tell a lot about a person by their regular coffee drink. She scribbles it all down in a notebook and calls it Espressology. So it’s not a totally crazy idea when Jane starts hooking up some of her friends based on their coffee orders. Like her best friend, Em, a medium hot chocolate, and Cam, a toffee nut latte. But when her boss, Derek, gets wind of Jane’s Espressology, he makes it an in-store holiday promotion, promising customers their perfect matches for the price of their favorite coffee. Things are going better than Derek could ever have hoped, so why is Jane so freaked out? Does it have anything to do with Em dating Cam? She’s the one who set them up! She should be happy for them, right?

With overtones of Jane Austen’s Emma and brimming with humor and heart, this sweet, frothy debut will be savored by readers.

My Thoughts:

I started this book thinking I would leave it in the basement read it little by little when I was down there. Once I started reading, I realized it was not going to work out that way. The Espressologist is such a cute book and I just didn’t want to stop…so I didn’t. I ended up reading it all in one shot.

Matching people based on their drink choices is such a fun idea. If you think about it, a lot of times we really are what we drink. Our drink choices can easily fit to our personalities. For example, I don't go for anything complicated...just a regular coffee with a lot of cream and sugar. What does that say about me? Well I'm very sweet (haha) but I’m also pretty laid back and fairly normal…although some of my friends may say the normal part is debatable ;). I don’t live an extravagant life, nor would I want to.

What’s your favorite drink? How does it fit your personality?
